Our manifesto point on lowering the voting age to 16 has sparked a great deal of debate. Read interviews with two of our members to hear their views.

"I think it should (be lowered) because otherwise politics leaves no real place for anyone to talk about their opinions and views unless they're considered to be 'real adults', which is against our policy of 'freedom of speech', because the freedom is age restricted..."

"...in my experience there is a wide variety of maturity levels in 16 year olds - some may well have the maturity to be able to make an educated vote, but many do not and so the outcome of an election may be skewed by the badly thought out vote of a handful of 16 year olds."
