

When you reach the age of 16, you can legally smoke, have sex, get married, go abroad with your mates, drive a moped, get a job, pay taxes, leave home, fight for your country... but you can't vote.
Essentially, the current law states that it's okay to make massive decisions that can affect the course of your life, but we don't quite think you're responsible enough to decide which party should run your country; you're fine to have kids and hand over your cash to the Chancellor, but voting is one step too far!

The government is obsessed by how much we weigh and continues to bang on about body mass index (BMI). We are told that if you have a BMI over 25 you're overweight; and if it's less than 19, you're underweight. Both have serious health risks attached to them - osteoporosis, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, infertility - which, ultimately, is going to cost the NHS millions to treat. So, why not actively encourage people to maintain a healthy BMI of 19 to 25?
