1. Should non-violent prisoners be used for community service?

The Blah! Party believes that non-violent offenders like shoplifters, vandals and white collar criminals should not be locked up, but instead made to perform tasks that make a positive contribution to society. Activities such as cleaning graffiti, cleaning up church yards, delivering leaflets for charities and more skilled work such as fitting improved security measures to pensioner's homes, ensure offenders pay back to society for the damage they have done and instil a sense of discipline and responsibility in offenders, making them face up to the damage they have caused, and even start to care.

2. Should religion be banned from our schools?

As the widely acknowledged bone of contention in conflicts large and small across the globe, religion should be banned in our schools. Religious instruction encourages the next generation to learn and develop in a segregated sphere of any one faith. Do we replace religion with citizenship lessons and integration skills and let our children make their own INFORMED choices about which, if any, religion to follow later in life?

3. Should professional footballers' salaries be capped?

Premiership footballers earn an average of £676,000 per year, according to a survey by The Independent and the Professional Footballers' Association. This figure typically rises by between 60% and 100% when performance-related bonuses are taken into account. Despite the high salary figures, 64% of Premiership footballers who responded to the survey said they were in favour of a salary cap.

4. Should prostitution be liberalised?

Prostitution is one of the oldest professions in history and one in which thousands of women in the UK are involved. Allowing prostitution in strictly managed areas would greatly increase the safety of these women and ensure greater control of the vast sex industry. Regulating prostitution enables more effective action against trafficking and the exploitation of children and less stigma for those sex workers who choose to do that work.

5. Should university education be free?

One of the most ridiculous policies that the Government has brought in has to be the laws surrounding student fees. £30,000 in debt by the time Students leave university? It’s crazy! They are supposed to be the future of this country, and our government should be supporting them, not financially crippling them.
